Privacy Policy
Ivy Todos is a to-do app that runs the Ivy Lee Method: six ranked tasks a day, worked strictly in order.
This policy is published at opensapp.net/ivy-todos/privacy and is linked from Settings → Privacy policy inside the app. The website that hosts it has its own short policy at opensapp.net/privacy.
It describes exactly what the app does and does not send anywhere. It is deliberately specific rather than generic, because most of the answer is “nothing leaves your device”, and a vague policy would hide that.
The short version
Your tasks never leave your device. Every task, day, setting, streak and piece of history lives in a database file on your phone and is never uploaded, synced, or backed up by us. There are no accounts. There is no sign-in. We operate no server that stores your task data, because there is no such data to store.
Two things do reach a server, and only two:
- The feedback form, when you choose to submit it.
- The advertisement shown after you close a day.
Everything below is detail on those two.
1. Data you send us: the feedback form
The app has a feedback form in Settings. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and submit it. If you never open it, this section does not apply to you.
When you submit it, the following is sent to mdashboard.opensapp.net:
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Type | Whether you marked it a bug, an idea, or other feedback |
| Title | The optional one-line summary you typed |
| Message | The text you typed |
| Email address | Only if you chose to enter one, so we can reply |
| App version | e.g. 1.0.0+1 |
| Device | The model name, e.g. “iPhone 15” or “Google Pixel 9” |
| Operating system | e.g. “iOS 18.2” or “Android 16 (SDK 36)” |
The app version, device and operating system are attached so a bug report is actionable — the same report is often reproducible on one device and not another. They identify a model, not a person or a handset: no advertising ID, no device serial number, no installation identifier, and no location are included.
Your task list is not attached to feedback. If you want us to see something about your tasks, you have to type it yourself.
The email address, if you provide one, is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list and is not shared.
2. Advertising
Ivy Todos shows one banner advertisement, on the planning screen, and only after you have finished and closed a day. It appears at most once per calendar day, never during your first seven days of using the app, and less often than that if you choose in Settings. It never appears on the focus screen, in your history, during onboarding, or on the home-screen widget.
Advertising is provided by Google AdMob. When an advert is requested, Google receives data from your device that may include your advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and interactions with the advert. This is Google’s collection, under Google’s terms — not ours. We do not receive, see, or store any of it, and we cannot connect it to your tasks, because we never receive your tasks either.
What Google does with that data is described in their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from partner sites and apps — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is required, the app presents Google’s consent form before the first advert is ever loaded. That form is shown at the moment an advert first becomes relevant to you, not at launch — so if you never close a day, you are never asked, because no advert is ever requested for you.
Turning it down. Declining consent means no advert loads. The app is otherwise unchanged and everything in it continues to work. You can also reduce how often the banner appears in Settings → Ads.
Your device controls. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the system settings. On iOS you can decline app tracking when asked, or change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
3. What we do not do
We think it is worth stating the absences plainly, because many apps in this category do all of these:
- No accounts and no sign-in. We never learn who you are.
- No analytics or telemetry. The app does not report screen views, taps, sessions, feature usage, or crashes to anyone.
- No crash reporting service.
- No advertising or tracking SDK other than Google AdMob, which is used only for the banner described above.
- No selling or sharing of personal information. We have nothing to sell, and we share nothing.
- No location collection.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
4. Notifications
The app can send you reminders. These are scheduled and delivered entirely by your own device’s operating system. No reminder passes through any server of ours, and we do not use push notifications — so no push token or device identifier is registered anywhere.
5. Where your data lives, and deleting it
Your tasks and settings are stored in a database file inside the app’s private storage on your device.
To delete everything, uninstall the app. That removes the database with it. There is no server-side copy to request the deletion of, because there is no server-side copy.
Note that your device’s own backup system (iCloud Backup, or Android’s automatic backup) may include app data according to your device settings. That backup is between you and Apple or Google; we neither create nor have access to it.
Feedback you have already submitted is held by us so we can act on it. To have a submission deleted, contact us using the details below and describe it.
6. Children
Ivy Todos is a productivity tool intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information — to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to its processing.
For Ivy Todos this is unusually simple: the only personal information we ever hold is what you typed into the feedback form, plus the email address if you chose to give one. Everything else stays on your device, outside our reach. Contact us and we will act on any of those rights for what we do hold.
For data collected by Google in connection with advertising, exercise those rights through Google, using the links in section 2 — we cannot access or delete it on your behalf.
8. Changes to this policy
If this app starts doing something new with data, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the “last updated” date above will change. We will not quietly broaden what is collected.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request about your data:
- Email: contact@opensapp.net
- In the app: Settings → Send feedback
